Zadig&Voltaire is exploring a new interest: lifestyle products that look like they’ve come straight from a cabinet of curiosities.

This VOLTAIRE VICE window display is not innocent. It embodies the irresistible lure of guilty pleasure and the magnetic pull of a collector’s item.

The beautiful object calls out to you, duplicating right in front of you. It probes your soul: what will you use it for?

The objects are transcended by the design, the appearance becoming as important as the purpose. The incongruous mix of completely irresistible objects look like they have come from a cabinet of curiosities.

The Out of Hand leather gloves would look good just sitting on an entrance unit or in a display case. The matchbox doesn’t have any particular purpose, just like the Gold Mess bowl. The objects become what we want them to be. The Cup of Joy mug and Bottle of Love water bottle stamped “Je m’en fous” are a reality check; Not everything is essential. We dream about adopting the Play with Me card game, Rock’n Roll the Dice trinket tray and three dice and Flame of Love lighter for our homes, just because they look so good. The motorbike helmet designed by Märkö Helmets and Mind Opener bottle opener are almost readymades. As for Chouchou in black leather, the Lenny bracelets and Head Over Hills baseball caps,  they are part of our everyday lives. The Glenn scarf is worn around the neck just as often as it is chosen as a symbol of the freedom cherished by Zadig&Voltaire.
